There are many ways to earn pbs in Powerpets, but not a lot is handed to you, so you do have to work hard for what you want.
One of the easiest ways to earn pbs, is to donate real money to the site in exchange for virtual items in the Upgrade Center. Kangabucks are very popular, but currently pc coins are the easiest to resell for more profit than the kangabucks. Opening a few Bag of Vending Coins and reselling the Brown Bag Dispenser Coins can reap a tidy profit also.
There are some freebies on the site, and sometimes there are seasonal games which also include freebies as the prizes. There are also random events but they are few and far between and only three actually give you an item of value [Gekkie gives you a job agency power card, you spot a lucky silver coin in some bushes, or the zookeeper hands you a brown bag dispenser coin.
Padam Shack
The door houses special occassion item, typically only available during holidays. Check News Updates if not sure.
The card pile in front contains lottery and scratch off cards, not quite so valuable as the other pile but good if you're working towards a conquest. And the wait time between visits is much faster than the armor pile.
The armor pile contains armor for pets or minis and is typically the most profitable, but the wait time between visit is longer than the card pile.
Kyla's Perch
Stop by and say Hi to Kyla and score pbs, lucky coins, etc
Tux Luck
This is an entirely free game where you get to pocket pbs based on your best score. But be careful, sometimes holding out for a better score will backfire
Northern Woods
This is where you get free strengthening slime. The slime can be fed to pets to increase their strength. Can be sold to other players who are strength training. can be used to create items in the Slime Purifier and Pawn Shop, or can be used for instant pbs from the Slime Compactor.
Dumpster
If you're new to the game you qualify for dumpster diving, the prizes probably won't be great because other players make the drop-off and have certain restrictions on what they can or can't give, but free is free right?
Herman's Map
This is a newer freebie and we're not sure how long it will be around. Currently you click on a clickable map section and either win something or go away sad.
Other sources of traditional revenue are games, quests and restocking/shops.
Click on the Games list and view all available games by 'type'. That helps you narrow down your specialty like cards or strategy.
Each game has the most a single game will pay out under Max Pay for the game.
Dicey Mice is like yatzee
Cattle Ranch is using common traits in cows to advance
Crash Down, Crash Extreme and Mini Match are grouping games, the more like items you group together and eliminate the higher your score
Dog Catcher and Mini Catcher are like centipede or snake
Baby Tennis is like pong [am I aging myself? lol]
Word Search is like a word find
Sudoku is sudoku
Mad Mosquitoes, Fishing, and Box of Chocolates are gathering games
Fire Hazzard is like tetris
Metal Revenge II is a shooting gallery
With games it's not just about the one that pays out the most, it's also playing only the ones you're really good at and saving only the higher point games. Take a couple days to try the games and see which ones are most profitable to you. I used to earn 50k a day just on fire hazzard.
But starting out you'll want to only play the games that don't cost you anything to play. So Bingo, Tux Luck, Poker, Slots, etc are out of the question.
What else?
Well in the upper left of the Games section are your tokens [transfer them for your powerbucks!], MMM tickets [use them to try to win Mega Money Madness - a random number drawing that occurs twice a week] and your Game Ranking.
To the upper right are any Active Game Challenges [this is where you can bet others that you can beat them at a game of your or their choosing - not for novices!] and Most Popular Games. Sometimes these are because of conquests or surges in the game, and other times it's because the games are deemed easy and good money makers so they're worth looking in to.
Quests are discussed in length on this site, we're attempting to make tutorials for all of the quests. A small description of each quest is located on the Quest link in PowerPets.
What we have to offer as a guide is:
*Indicates a new page will open.
If you click the Shopping link in Powerpets, you'll get a list of main shops available to you. Almost all of the shops use power credits. Power Credits were designed so you have to work harder to get the better items. Items are based on a 1-11 power credit scale. So the pricier the items in power credits, that typically indicates it's more profitable in pbs.
The Shopping link is not inclusive and there are some restrictions.
The Bidding barn is an auction type of system, where you can buy some great items cheaply, or unload some of your items at half price and hope that bidding wars increase the value.
The Blind Silent Auction House is great for getting deals when you have disposable income. Never bid more than you're comfortable losing, because only the first two or three items inside a box are available for preview.
The Nothing Rare Here, Apparel Outlet, and Construction store [not shown but in Power Federation cities] only accept kangabuck currency. NRH does not use power credits though, but the cost is enough to disuade real 'restocking' of the store.
Apparel Exchange is only for trading in older versions of clothes for newer, wearable versions
The Pawn Shop, and Slime Purifier [not shown, but located in Mini City] are not for restocking but rather trading in defined items to get [better] items.
Point Taken is not the typical shop either. It allows you to drop off existing items for points, and purchase other items with those points. This is actually a really great place to start out because a lot of people drop off food, books and toys and you can get rid of hour 'worthless' items here and exchange those points for other items that restock. Items are typically dropped off by other players, but during playing account freeze sprees, sometimes those items can be dropped off here, Bidding Barn, or Blind Silenct Auctions
Bunny Time!, Candy Crush, and Siku Stores are seasonal shops which are only available year-round to upgraded account holders. But normal rules apply with prices and purchase credits
All the other shops are normal, some have been redesigned to only show 6 items at a time on the screen. Click the Reload Inventory link and different items will typically appear. This is great for patient people with slower connections, if you scroll through enough you'll get some great finds. Also these shops are always stocked.
Others are in an older design and restock every 15 minutes. Everything available shows up on the screen and 'mini restocks' occur randomly in those 15 minutes so it pays to refresh often. This is where patience and speed matter.
In a few shops, everything is displayed in these older shops. But that's only because no one is buying. If you buy an item, another item will take it's place. These are queued items, and sometimes it's worthwhile to buy cheapie items in the hopes of uncovering something better hidden away.
[Not shown, but located in Abyss city] Nessie's Fancy Fish, Spice it up Shop and Shark-o-Bell only accept pearls as currency. The items aren't too high in demand, so right now it's typically better to just sell than pearl than try to cash it in.
Typically the weapon shop is a good place to start. Most of the items are low in purchase credits but decent in resell value.
Any drink in the Bunny Time shop is profitable, but you have to have an upgraded account
The Playpen is typically profitable if you stick with toys of a purchase credit 8 or higher
The All Things Stuffed is typically profitable but most items have high purchase credit prices
Apparel and Construction shops are incredibly profitable if you take the time to research. These slow-moving stores allow a lot of time for you to look up prices before buying. But they can be hard hitters from a kangabuck and purchase credit standpoint so it pays to invest even if you lose out on an item while you're researching.
Point Taken is always worthwhile, because you drop off items you didn't want to sell anyway for other items. So it's very nice and since there's no purchase credits it's a good place for food and toys.
The remaining shops, Simply Delicious, Mr. Medic, Hydration Station, Hardware and More, and the book shops can be profitable but the profits can be very low in some cases. Overall it's good for someone in a rush, because you can typically clear out the store when it restocks and take the good with the bad.
Universal Toys is almost always a bad place to shop.
If you're selling low-cost items use the swap barn and bulk the items together. Without advertising in the Shops chat forum it will be difficult for you to get people to come to your shop, and the swap area is good for fast turn-around time but be fair. Pricing buyable items over average won't get you many customers, but pricing at average or lower will normally get money in your pocket fast and you'll still make profit.
Buying low in the bidding barn and reselling in shops or swaps is great. Buying from swaps can be risky for newer players. PowerPets doesn't encourage unfair trade practices or begging. So mailing players asking them to give you things, buy your stuff, or swap their pricey items for nothing, is a finable and freezable offense. Plus it can make veteran players angry. It's best to be nice, and friendly. If you try to be fair with an offer you're more likely to build in friends than alienate people.
There are Power Federation Contests which cost a small fee to participate, but you could win some great items.
You can build commercial property in a Power Federation City, although I've never seen the profits outweigh the cost to build, it's a way to earn powerbucks.
Build a Kitchen or workshop, teach your pet recipes or workshop plans, gather the required items and boom. You have resellable items. Some are profitable some are not, but learning the recipes and design plans are very cheap so it pays to learn them and figure out if the components are worth the overall price.
Action Teams events. You participate, and get points to trade for some really great items you can resell.
PowerPet Contests, enter, win. Prizes vary but are always mentioned in News Updates
Chat Forum Contests, typically on beginners. When people are looking to help out, do a gift conquest, or just want to have fun they'll make a contest and you can get some great prizes if you win.
PetZone - if you blog about your pet and add their picture you can get an account upgrade, it's not a real item you can resell but having an upgraded account does give you access to more and allow for more profit.
Interest. At NBIC you can store your pbs and get daily interest, or you can open some longer term bonds for interest. At Eurobank you accumulate interest monthly, but it does require the powerbucks to be in place for OVER an entire month before your eligable. So if you add your powerbucks December 31, you won't get interest until February 1.
POWEX Stocks, buy low sell high.
Refer a friend or family member, and the more they play the more powerbucks you earn.
Write a book and submit it to powerpets [requires you to be a landowner in Power Federation] and if published you collect powerbucks everytime someone buys it.
